Jeremi Roth reports from Tottenham’s pre-season friendly against Toronto FC.
Finding the bus-stop was’t hard: young, boisterous Torontonians in red; quiet, grim men in lilywhite and blue. Each party was studiously ignored by the other. Once all concerned were deposited at the grounds, however, the reciprocal love was disarmingly simple. An old, tubby couple grasped each other, Mrs. sporting a…

Tottenham Hotspur’s new home and away kit for the 2014-15 season were unveiled today.
The new kits are designed to pay tribute to club icon Bill Nicholson. This year it has been 10 years since the passing of the most influential manager in the club’s history.
The home kit pays hommage to one of Bill Nicholson’s most famous quotes through a jacquard that runs across the shoulders which reads “Echo of Glory”. The jacquard also includes a pattern inspired by the gates of White Hart Lane at Bill Nicholson Way.
The away kit features 11 yellow stripes, a reference to the number of trophies Tottenham won under Bill Nicholson’s guidance and leadership.
Unlike last season, there will not be separate league and cup editions of the kits. Last February the club announced insurance company AIA will be the club’s principal shirt sponsor in all competitions as of the 2014-15 season.
To accompany the launch of this season’s new kits, Under Armour will launch a social media campaign. The press statement reads:
Fans will have the opportunity to engage further throughout the season via an immersive, digital experience, which will invite Spurs fans to add their own voice to the ‘Echo of Glory’ by tweeting messages of support to the team ahead of the new season using the hashtag #SeizeGlory. The supporter messages will be digitally sewn around the body of Brazil midfielder Paulinho to create the new home shirt.
Both the home and away kit are now avaialable via tottenhamhotspur.com and all Spurs shops.New Tottenham Hotspur x Under Armour 2014/15 kits unveiled Tottenham Hotspur’s new home and away kit for the 2014-15 season were unveiled today. He might be considered a wild card by some, but in the Netherlands everyone is convinced Frank de Boer is the next in line in the dynasty of outstanding Dutch managers.

Tottenham Hotspur call time on Tim Sherwood’s reign as the club’s head coach, after being in charge of the club for just over three months.
